Python Part 2: Django

Installing Django

When working with anything pip related we like to use pipenv as described in Python Part 1. We use pipenv to install django:

pipenv install django
pipenv shell
django-admin startproject myproject

Django works with projects and apps. An App is something that does something (e.g. a blog system or a poll app). A project is a collection of configurations and apps.

Making a view

In Django, views receive web requests and return web responses, such as HTML documents or JSON payloads.
